John Wolfendale - Managing Director

John read Land Economy at Magdalene College Cambridge and spent 10 years in the commercial property market in London. He worked for Postel Investment Management now Hermes, and Chartwell Land part of the Kingfisher group and the largest property company in the UK at that time. In 1994 he moved to Spain and spent a year in Madrid working for Continent part of the large French retailer Promodes refinancing their shopping centers. He is a general practice member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Since 1996 John has been building a travel company, which he started from scratch out of an office in Granada. This company Club Dance Holidays now carries passengers all over the world to over 25 different destinations on 4 continents. Club Dance Holidays is now run out of London and is part of Club Free Spirit and is maturing into a family of special activity and learning holidays.

John continues to be highly entrepreneurial and he is setting up an internet business celebrating Andalucia, about which he is knowledgeable and passionate, and aimed at the ex-pat community, visitors, and business owners with a strong emphasis on video and still images. He manages this and PIMS from an office in Granada southern Spain.

John is embedded in the local community in Spain. He is very happily married to Lola who is Spanish and the mother of their two boys Richard 3 and Alejandro 1. John has 5 godchildren and supports Ramiro, 10, and his family who live in Guatemala. John helps out on a voluntary basis with children who have been taken into care.

John brings a number of natural skills to PIMS. He is fluent in Spanish, conversant with the ways of doing business in Spain, passionate about property and in love with the area. He has a nose for a deal and an eye for a stylish home. In addition he has high ethical standards, is creative, positive, has a high energy level, sometimes playful, and is fun to work with.

John likes to live life to the full. He is a qualified ski instructor, has a first class degree in psychology from the Open University, and is always interested in learning and reading more.
